"I don't trust him." Renji stood, arms crossed, sword pointed in the direction of the dark-haired man in black who was just about to disappear into the orchards near the royal gardens. "How did he even get in here?"   
"You can put down your sword, Renji," said Ichigo, shaking his head. "Zangetsu's a friend. He's offered to train me."   
"Train you? In what? Banditry?" Renji scowled, putting away his sword, all the same. By now, Zangetsu had vanished into the trees.

"You've known all along, haven't you?" Rukia stood, looking out of a window at the snow falling, her back to Ichigo and her arms crossed over her chest.   
"Pretty much," Ichigo replied, with a slight grin. He was sitting in a chair, watching her. They were being held in a small farmhouse on the edge of Fury's Keep. There were guards outside the window and the door – a prison, without bars or locks.

The Twin Moons: New IchiRuki/HitsuKarin Fic!

So, since I can't seem to write only one story at a time, enter "Twin Moons," a new Bleach (HitsuKarin/IchiRuki double pairing) AU fic based loosely on the Darkover series of books by Marion Zimmer Bradley. The Darkover books were my absolute favorite when I was in high school - I highly recommend them to anyone who loves sci fi/fantasy along the lines of Lord of the Rings!

The new fic is not a crossover, but draws on elements from the Darkover books to mesh them with Bleach. In it, Ichigo is the "Regent" (yes, he's a king, lol!) of one of the kingdoms of Darkover and Rukia is the sister of another ruler - you got it - Kuchiki Byakuya. Darkover is a seemingly backwards planet with little technology, and which the Terran Empire believes it has conquered (at least they'd like to think they have!). Ichigo, a Darkovan, has spent most of his life in exile on Terra (Earth) and is caught between two worlds (Darkover and Earth) and truly at home in neither. Sounds familiar, huh?

Rukia is running away from her brother disguised as a boy, when Ichigo rescues her from thieves. Enter Hitsugaya Toushirou, a noble with a bit of a shady background. In this fic, it is Rukia who must discover more about the past and the struggle between kingdoms. And what about the mysterious Hitsugaya, friend of kings and outlaw? And, of course, what about a certain Kurosaki Karin, a princess far more at home wielding a sword than attending to her "courtly" duties?

Part fairy tale, part sci fi, part adventure/romance tale with a Bleach twist. I hope you all enjoy it!
